Hardshore Distilling Co. debuted renovations alongside a new food menu at their home at 53 Washington Avenue. After Maine Mead Works closed, Hardshore was able to renovate a portion of Maine Mead Works former home. Upgrades included a new bar and spacious indoor seating area.
The Bar + Bites officially closed their location at 8 Exchange Street.
Radici announced their last day of service at 52 Washington Avenue as November 18th, 2023. Radici opened in the height of the pandemic in July of 2020. Husband and wife duo, Randy and Ally Forrester moved from Allentown, New Jersey where they operated Osteria Radici, which was a James Beard awards semifinalist for Best New Restaurant in 2018. Randy Forrester was a semifinalist for Best Chef in the Mid-Atlantic in 2019.
Thistle & Grouse, a farm-to-table gastropub coming soon, took to social media to show off their new signage, indicating that opening day was coming soon. We touched upon their opening earlier this year. They will be opening in the former Rivalries’ Portland location at 10 Cotton Street in the Old Port.
Baristas from all three Coffee by Design locations have planned to form a union.
207 Beer Week, formerly known as Portland Beer Week, will be coming soon to Portland. After changing hands, the weeklong celebration will be returning November 5th – 11th. 207 Beer Week highlights Maine’s vibrant beer community and culture.

Fun for the modern day foodie!
In addition to renovations, Hardshore Distilling has also announced their new bourbon, Shorebird Bourbon. They are hosting a release party Thursday, October 26th, 2023 from 4 – 9 PM at their Washington Ave location. Will include bourbon tastings, live music, food pairings from their in-house menu, and bottles of Shorebird Whiskey.
CÔNG TỬ BỘT’s new restaurant coming soon, Oun Lido’s, will be giving another sneak peak at their menu with a pop-up this Sunday, October 22nd from 8 AM – 12 PM. They will be serving assorted breakfast items at CÔNG TỬ BỘT. Oun Lido’s will be opening in the former home of Pat’s Pizza Old Port.
Paper Tiger has announced brunch for the first time ever! The cocktail bar and restaurant will be offering brunch every day from 10 AM -3 PM. Starts Friday, October 20th.
Sal de La Tierra’s food truck has hit the streets! Sal de La Tierra has a brick-and-mortar location at 581 Congress Street. They specialize in Mexican, Puerto Rican, and Salvadorian food. You can find their food truck hours and location via social media.
