The Weekend Guide for March 8th – 10th

Losing an hour this weekend doesn’t have anything on us (probably because that means another Maine summer is on the horizon).

Friday

We can honestly say that there is no better way to get your weekend started than with a drink in your hand in the name of cute pups. The 2nd annual Pints for Pups starts at 5 pm where they’re donating $1 per pint to Buddy Up Animal Society, along with Grillin’ Brazilian food truck donating $1 per sale of the Brigadeiro dessert as well!

Portland Pie is proud to announce their newest beer collab with Cushnoc brewing company, Portland Pie Life! A classic American Lager that’s light and fresh, and they’re releasing it at 5 pm! What could go better with a hot, fresh, delicious pizza?

The Mallett Brothers band is an independent, nationally touring country rock and roll band and they’re making a stop at The Thirsty Pig for a very rare and intimate acoustic duo appearance. The music begins at 7 pm!

In honor of the just-passed Fat Tuesday this week, catch C.J. Chenier and the Red Hot Louisiana Band to get some NOLA flavor in your life and a reprieve from the cold weather, starting at 7 pm both Friday and Saturday at Portland House of Music & Events!

Saturday

Hi Bar Bakery is hosting a brunch pop up beginning at 10 am at Fork Food Lab! Join them to experience the best of Hi Bar Bakery including breakfast pastries, challah monte cristo, Almond Joy bites, and more!

It’s time for one final Three Tides & Marshall Wharf Brewing Company event to celebrate the Belfast staple and its role in the Maine brewery movement! Show your love and support to owner/brewer David Carleson and his crew at Novare Res with the brews they’ve created all Saturday and Sunday!

The Portland Yoga Project presents Yoga for Maine Cancer Foundation starting at 5 pm with a candlelit vinyasa class with live acoustic music, followed by a raffle and delicious drinks with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the amazing work done by this local nonprofit.

Are you ready for an evening of mystery and mayhem at MJ’s annual Masquerade Ball? Spend your Saturday with Kris Rodgers & The Dirty Gems who will be bringing the house down from 8:30-11:30 pm. Masks are required for this event!

Sunday

Above the Barre is an event brought to you by Lavender and The Rooted Collective who’ve teamed up to bring you 2 topics that are important to them, cleaner products and holistic living. Join them at Rooted at 11 am for a 45 minute Barre class, followed by smoothies and refreshments, and a Q&A session on the topic. Don’t forget your mat!

It’s just about time for another Gritty’s Game Night! Every Sunday, head to Gritty’s for Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart, prizes, tournaments, and more, starting at 4 pm!

Oxbow and the Portland Comedy Co-Op present an evening of comedy and daylight savings, Daylight Laughing Time. Get to Oxbow  Blending & Bottling for some laughs courtesy of New England comics, starting at 6:30 pm!
