Portland Pier is the flagship restaurant of Luke’s Lobsters’ 20+ lobster shacks around the country.

The restaurant sits on historic Portland Pier with 306- degree views of Portland’s working waterfront. It’s directly next to their lobster buying station where they land catch from their partner fishermen who dock on Portland Pier. You can often times catch them unloading crates at the dock or having a post-haul drink at the bar.

The restaurant boasts 110 seats with ample and beautiful outdoor seating for warmer weather. Menu features their classic Maine-style lobster, crab, and shrimp rolls, in addition to broiled and fried seafood specialties,  and of course steamed shore dinner. They also have a full beer, wine, and cocktail menu and two full bars.

They can accommodate private event rentals for weddings, corporate events, or meetings. Additionally, they offer take-out and delivery, walk-ins are welcome, and reservations accepted during the off season.

Oh, and they are dog friendly! So pack your pup and the whole family for a great day on waterfront.

We arrived at Luke's at peak time, and the wait wasn't too bad. We started with the lobster bisque and whole body clams. Both came quick, were hot and delicious breakfast. The homemade dipping sauce was delightful. My wife ordered the warm lobster roll with potato salad, and the roll wasn't warm but tasted incredible. The potato salad reminded us of a loaded baked potato(minus the bacon), it was one of the best we've had anywhere. I ordered the lobster roll sliders with coleslaw. The rolls were all cold, but it didn't matter. The flavors were incredible. The coleslaw took me by surprise. It was vinegar based, and after the initial punch, I really enjoyed it.The atmosphere at Luke's is what you'd expect for a pier based restaurant. It is loud as it has open seating. Your food comes quick and just as you order it. We definitely recommend Luke's, and I'm sure we'll be back.

We arrived for lunch with a LONG line. They said the wait was 30 minutes but it ended up being only about 10. They do text you when your reservation is ready which is convenient.Our server was friendly but was very busy and every interaction felt rushed.We ordered appetizers (lobster bisque and calamari) and it came within several minutes….before we even got our drinks. The lobster bisque was perfection, and the calamari was perfectly breaded and delicious.My husband had the seafood platter. It was all fried however the shrimp and haddock were the highlights. I had the lobster roll (8oz) and it was out of this world.I HIGHLY recommend giving this place a try and will come back when we return to town.(There is parking on the pier but it is not cheap).

What a perfect place to eat lobster when in Maine!First of all, their lobster is fresh! They have their own fisherman. I love that they provide the source of every single food they serve and try to keep it as local as possible.From the second I saw that they had a seafood roll flight, I knew I needed that in my life. All three rolls (lobster, shrimp, and crab) were delicious. 🤤 I also got to try the fried pickles. Fried to perfection and I say that as a fried pickle snob.The inside of the restaurant was large and open. Very farmhouse rustic chic. Nice and clean. They were also able to accommodate multiple large groups at once.It was a wonderful experience with amazing food. A must eat place!

Tried out Luke’s Lobster after seeing some great reviews, and it totally lived up to the hype! Even though it was raining so we couldn’t sit outside, the indoor seating still had awesome ocean views, so the vibe was great.I went for the 6oz lobster roll with fries, and honestly, it’s the best one I’ve ever had—huge chunks of lobster and super fresh. My mom got the twin lobsters with corn and potatoes, and the lobster was so sweet and tasty.Definitely coming back here again. If you’re a seafood fan, this place is a must!

I was up in Portland for work, and couldn’t have been luckier to have tried Luke’s for the first time. Excellent all across the board.. What an incredible lunch & dinner spot. The lobster rolls were incredible; not one single piece of overcooked lobster. They continue to be famous for them.

We were told that once in Portland, we needed to go to Luke's, so we did. The wait for a table was minimal, atmosphere was fantastic with a beautiful view. We ordered calamari and a lobster roll. The blueberry lemonade was the best part of the show in my opinion.I'm more of a crab leg girly, so I wasn't as excited about a cold lobster roll, but if you like those, you may want to try it. Either way, get that blueberry lemonade.

Great Place to enjoy a good lunch and a view. We have had Luke’s Lobster in NYC but wanted to check this location out in Portland.We had the lobster flight the original lobster was the best of the 3… truffle version in 2nd. Clam Chowder is very good as well!Service was great and location can’t be beat. There are tons of lobster places but this was definitely enjoyable with a great view.It’s busy so it is good grab a reservation!

Great lunch today! Wife had the lobster roll - and was VERY happy with it. It was good sized, and she said that it was very flavorful. Our friends had the twin lobster meal. They really liked. Came with corn and boiled red potatoes. Well prepared, and was quick to table. I had the lobster bisque, that was a highlight - great taste, with .good sized chunks of lobster meat in the cup. Along with that, I had the steamer meal - 1.5 lb. lobster along with a half pound of steamed clams - wonderful. Would highly recommend, and we will definitely be going back.
