The long-awaited dream of Monopoly fans in Portland, Maine has finally come true! Hasbro, the company behind Monopoly, has released a special edition of the game featuring our city. Portland, Maine is the first city in the state to have its own licensed Monopoly edition, making it a historic moment.
About a year ago, the city learned it would get its own Monopoly board. Residents were invited to suggest local landmarks and businesses to feature on the board, ensuring it’s a true reflection of our city.
While a Maine-themed Monopoly edition existed in 1999, this new release is a significant milestone for Portland. It showcases iconic local businesses like The Porthole, Sea Bags, Boone’s Fish House, Bayside Bowl, and many more, celebrating what makes our city unique.
Monopoly: Portland, Maine Edition is now available in local stores like The Porthole and online through Treehouse Toys and Top Trumps USA. Don’t miss the chance to own a piece of Portland’s history and enjoy this classic game with a local twist!
