- Model T Coffee Co. celebrated their grand opening on Friday, May 3rd. Taking over the former Coffee By Design Congress Street space (620 Congress Street), Model T Coffee Co. will be serving Coffee By Design coffee, donuts from Tony’s Donuts, and other local baked goods. Model T Coffee Co. is owned by Matthew and Stephanie Morgan, who also own Bru-Thru Coffee Shack. Model T Coffee Co. is open daily 6 am – 3 pm.

Luna Bangladeshi Cuisine will be opening Wednesday, May 8th inside the Public Market House (2nd floor). Dubbed, “Maine’s first Bangladeshi cuisine”, Luna plans to offer classic Bengali lunch dishes with a modern twist at an affordable price. They will be open daily from 11 am – 7 pm.
- Will and Mary Sissle, owners of The Cheese Shop of Portland plan to open a new cafe, Sissle and Daughters Cafe, in Woodfords Corner. The cafe plans to feature a wine bar and market. You can also expect to find espresso drinks, retail offerings similar to The Cheese Shop, and even take-and-heat prepared meals.
- As reported on earlier this year, Lone Pine Brewing Co. plans to reopen their Beer Garden this summer. They are currently working on renovations to the upper level beer garden with first pours expected to begin in mid-June. More to come.
- Yuri Dessert has shared their excitement for their bakery opening in the Old Port. Yuri Dessert has taken over the space formerly occupied by Stars & Stripes Brewing Co. at 3 Spring Street. Shooting for September opening.

- Kölsch Day returns to Bissell Brothers Portland taproom on Thursday, May 16th. They’ll be celebrating the annual release of SchluckeBrau – their take on the classic easy-drinking ale originating from Cologne, Germany – with a day of Kölsch Service. Expect trays (kranzs) full of glasses (stanges) going from table to table. Bissell Brothers Kitchen will be rocking an appropriately German-style menu full of specials for the day. This year BB is asking folks to please sign up for a 2-hour seating ahead of time.
- Onggi Ferments will be hosting a Hana Makgeolli demo and tasting on Friday, May 17th. A fun evening to meet founder and brewer Alice Jun, learn how to make your own makgeolli homebrew, and taste exclusive cuvées.

- Austin Street Brewery will be celebrating their 10th anniversary with a special bash on Saturday, May 18th. Festivities include a live band, food trucks (Great Wave Sushi, Eighty 8 Donuts, Vintage Dogs), a special beer release, face painting, raffle and more.
- Definitive Brewing Co. is celebrating their 6th anniversary on Saturday, May 18th. In Portland, they will be celebrating with a bounce house for kids, live music with 90 Miles Away from 12-3pm and Tumbledown Saints from 3-6pm, and food trucks!
- Other Side Diner is hosting a pop-up Greek BBQ Night on Friday, May 24th as part of their pop-up dinner series. Taking limited reservations, walk ins welcome.

- Bar Futo’s 2nd annual Guest Chef Dinner in celebration of AAPI Heritage Month is set for Tuesdsay, May 7th. A very special 8-course dinner with sake and wine pairings to benefit Unified Asian Communities – a local organization that strives to unify all Asian communities and empower them through civic engagement, community service and member-led initiatives. Tickets.
- Bissell Brothers Brewing Company is hosting their first-ever Bubbles Party with Sebago Clean Waters on Wednesday, May 8th in The Garden. Releasing Bissell Bubbles, their non-alcoholic hop water, in honor of Drinking Water Week. 5% from all can sales of Bissell Bubbles is donated Sebago Clean Waters.
