QUEER MOVEMENT

with Lauren Znachko

1st Wednesday of every month | 7:00pm | FREE

Our queer yoga class is meant to provide safer space for queer and trans folks to gather together and move our bodies. The guidance and facilitation is trauma informed with the intention to decenter cis-het notions of bodies, language, and togetherness. Movement will be gentle and by invitation, modifications and rest will be offered and encouraged, hands on guidance is based on explicit consent, which is never assumed.

Wear whatever feels most comfortable for you. If your movement is limited for whatever reason, we will make accommodations so that you are able to feel at ease and a part of the group. If you have questions, concerns, or would like to make requests ahead of time, please feel free to email us.

Pre-registration is recommended.

This class is designed for women survivors of trauma, including those experiencing chronic pain. The focus of this class is to befriend our bodies through movement, breath, and self-awareness to help regulate the nervous system, manage stress, and cultivate a sense of calm and groundedness. We believe in the healing power of community and connection.

This class offers a supportive space for you to connect with fellow participants who share similar experiences and challenges. We will foster a sense of belonging and solidarity as we journey together towards healing and growth.
No prior experience of yoga is required! All women are welcome.

What to Expect—

  • Participants can choose to be on a mat or in a chair depending on their level of comfort.

  • Classes begin with breathing exercises and warm-up movements that are widely accessible for various levels of mobility
