Friday the 7th
Jams Frrever | Henry’s Public House | 9:00 PM
It’s that Friday feeling at Henry’s Public House! Portland Old Port’s late-night hub for DJs and dancing, Henry’s Public House welcomes back Jams Frrever to the DJ booth for a night of ‘classy dance party’ vibes.
Celebrate World Ocean Day | Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine | 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Come celebrate World Ocean Day at the Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine! The ocean is home to over a million species of plants and animals. It houses some of the smallest living things, like phytoplankton and algae, which produce much of the world’s oxygen. It is also home to the biggest animal, the blue whale! During World Ocean Day at CMTM, kids and the whole family can marvel at the ocean as you make a mini-tide pool habitat using touchable object; explore the Museum & Theatre’s tide pool tank; and identify ocean plant life with a sensory seaweed table. Special programming includes: Connected Waters: Interactive Watershed Model with City of Portland Water Resources 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM + Sensory Seaweed with Visiting Scientist: Gretchen Grebe from 1:30 PM – 2:15 PM. Activities are included with admission.
Portland Bach Experience: Choose Your Own Musical Adventure | Portland Museum of Art | 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM
Bach is back from June 6th -16th, 2024! Join Portland Bach Experience for world-class live music that bridges generations, connects friends, and strengthens communities. During the Choose Your Own Musical Adventure at the Portland Museum of Art, visual and performing arts collide. You determine which way to go and what to hear in this musical labyrinth, but beware of pop-up partitas, surprise suites, and singing sirens. Schedule of events includes a kids musical craft at 4:30 PM; performances start at 5 PM. Whether you enjoy full orchestral performances, intimate salons in art galleries, public sing-alongs, outdoor parties, or hands-on events for children, there’s something for everyone to love at the Portland Bach Experience. This experience is free and open to the public as part of Portland Museum of Art’s Free Fridays.
HIVE: REDUX | Flask Lounge | 7:00 PM
Enjoy cutting edge music from across the genre spectrums of house, techno, trance and beyond during Flask First Friday with HIVE! A full festival experience, HIVE: REDUX offers the community deeper cuts, experiments in sound and light, and more intimate vibes and connections with people. Come experience the deep, soulful and futuristic music, and the electric vibes you’ve come to know with HIVE.

Ironclad Eats: 3rd Anniversary Bash | Belleflower Brewing Co. | Noon Start
The time has come to celebrate Ironclad Eats, as they get ready to party for their 3rd birthday! Come celebrate 3 full years of Ironclad Eats “terrorizing the streets and intestinal tracts” (as they put it!) of Portland, Maine. They will be cranking all day long on Saturday at Belleflower Brewing Co. With a new menu drop, impeccable beers, and a chance to make lasting memories with the hilarious guys of Ironclad Eats, it’s one bash you’d be remiss to miss.
Walk the Working Waterfront | Portland Waterfront | 12:00 PM – 3:30 PM
Celebrate the people, businesses, and infrastructure that comprise the heart of Casco Bay’s ocean economy! From Becky’s Diner to the Maine State Pier, Walk the Working Waterfront welcomes you onto Portland’s working wharves to tour vessels, see real working gear and hands-on exhibits, ask questions about the marine industry and sea farming with commercial fishermen, and most importantly to celebrate Maine’s coastal cultural identity and elevate the value and attention paid to Maine’s extraordinary working waterfront. Participating businesses include Rocky Bottom Tours, Luke’s Lobster, Lady Shuckers, Fogg’s Water Taxi & Charters, Gulf of Maine Research Institute, and more.

Portland Bach Experience: BachBends Yoga | Eastern Promenade | 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM
As part of the Portland Bach Experience! What could be better than starting your day with gentle yoga accompanied by Bach’s cello suites? All yogis and observers are welcome to join! This event takes place at the Eastern Promenade. You will meet in the grassy area between the tennis and basketball courts and the baseball field, near where Quebec Street intersects with the promenade (look for yard signs!) Free to attend, donations welcome. If you are planning on participating in the silently-led yoga, you will need you to fill out a liability waiver before you participate. Sawyer Auger w/Special Guest Jake | One Longfellow Square | 7:00 PM Doors
Sawyer Auger, a soulful Folk Rock pop musician, takes the stage at One Longfellow Square alongside special guest Jake Swamp. Sawyer Auger is not just an artist but a beacon of hope using his music to shed light on the shadows of mental health. Born and raised in a small town, Sawyer discovered his passion for music at a young age, finding solace in the strings of his acoustic guitar. Known for his distinctive sound, Sawyer employs a unique approach to his craft by incorporating a looper into his performances, magically transforming his solo act into a captivating full-band experience. With the skillful use of this device, he weaves layers of melody, creating a rich, immersive atmosphere that envelops his audience in a sonic embrace. Tickets.
Broken Men | PHOME | 8:00 PM
Broken Men, Maine’s original jam band since 1982, is making their long-awaited return to Portland at Portland House of Music and Events! For over 40 years, Portland’s original ‘Dead band’ have played their own brand of original and jam-band music to packed houses from Portland to New York City. The “B-Men” began their odyssey in 1982 and released several albums of original material featuring a unique blend of prog rock and jam, including 1991’s “In a Song” and the 1995 album “Live Bait”. The group still includes four of the original five members in their lineup, and now includes family member Dylan Jeffrey holding down the bottom-end (bass) for the boys. Broken Men only play selective gigs a few times a year, but they are returning to Portland to share their music with friends, family and fans. A rare opportunity to see one of Portland’s best and longest-running bands! Tickets.
Cemetery Tour with Spirits Alive | Eastern Cemetery | Daily 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Explore the Eastern Cemetery with one of Yankee Magazine’s top five cemetery tours in New England, Spirits Alive! Walk Portland’s Old Burying Ground with a trained guide. Hallowed? Not officially. Historic? Absolutely. Haunted? You decide. Visit the cemetery’s unique field of underground tombs, the oldest gravemarker from 1717, the final resting place of the famed Captains of the 1813 battle between the Boxer and the Enterprise, and the interesting carvings of Portland’s first stone-cutter, Bartlett Adams. Tours include early gravestone art, important local historic figures, Portland’s historic events, and the landscape of this National Historic Landmark. Tours are held unless the weather is stormy. Sunday the 9th
Resurgam Music and Arts Festival | Ocean Gateway | 11:30 AM – 7:00 PM
Maine Academy of Modern Music’s Resurgam Music and Arts Festival presented by OTTO returns for its third year! MAMM has partnered with the City of Portland and local community businesses to offer this one-day music and arts festival at Ocean Gateway and the surrounding areas. Expect a full day of interactive activities for all ages, local food and drinks (also for all ages), and plenty of music. A variety of food and beverage vendors will be available throughout the festival grounds for when you get a bit peckish. This includes offerings from Bissell Brothers, Coastal Creamery, Mr. Tuna, Highroller Lobster Co., and more. The event is FREE and open to the public!
Catch on the Field | Hadlock Field | 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
It’s a day at the ballpark! Before the game get in on all the action and head out onto the field for a game of catch! Fans can play catch on the field from 10 AM – 11 AM before the Sea Dogs game kicks off. Don’t forget to bring you own gloves and ball!
Grill & Chill Cookie Decorating Workshop | Definitive Brewing Co. | 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Go from the “wurst” with royal icing to grill master with this Grill and Chill Cookie Class with Mainely Cookies by Kim at Definitive Brewing Company. In this 2-hour class, Kim will cover the basics to sugar cookies, do some piping practice with Royal Icing, talk about how to strategize the best ways to decorate sugar cookies, and cover the general concepts around dough and icing. Everything you’ll need is provided at class along with a live in-person instructor – just bring a smile (and maybe an apron). This class is for the beginner cookier or for the person who is just curious about what cookie decorating is all about! If you have limited experience with sugar cookies, found yourself frustrated with royal icing, or if you’re trying to have fun with family or friends, this is the class for you. Each to-be-baker gets 6 cookies, 4 icing colors, sprinkles, and all the tools necessary to knock this cookie class out of the park. Tickets.
Crowd Source | Empire Comedy Club | 7:00 PM
“Crowd Source” at Empire Comedy Club is a comedy show where YOU (the audience) call all the shots! In this new comedy show the audience picks the topics and the comedians create jokes on the spot. Get ready for a hilarious night where anything goes and laughter is guaranteed! Tickets.
Dance Party with Hustle and Flow + Viva The Sensation | Ocean Gateway | 4:30 Pm
As part of the Resurgam Music and Arts Festival! Hustle and Flow (body positive dance-based fitness, flow and movement) and Viva The Sensation are joining forces to turn Ocean Gateway into a dance party to help wrap up Resurgam Music and Arts Festival 2024. Join in on the fun with Hustle and Flow performing from 4:30 PM to 5:15 PM and an open dance floor hosted by Viva from 5:15 PM – 6:15 PM
