News Update
Anything from recent closings, openings, and headliners:
- Broken Arrow has closed. Located at 545 Congress Street, Broken Arrow was a rustic cocktail bar and restaurant that opened in October of 2020.
- As reported last week, Angoor Wine Bar is now open at 100 Fore Street. Portland’s first self-pour wine bar, Angoor is home to an array of wines from across the globe and tapas inspired by Sangeeta Nasiff’s and Rafael Done’s (owners) respective cultures. Guests choose from a rotating selection of 30 wines and three pour sizes. Choose from 2, 4, or 6 oz pours using their state-of-the-art dispensers. Here’s a glimpse.
- ICYMI Lava Kava opened in early May at 550 Washington Avenue, the former home of Botto’s Bakery. Maine’s first and only Kava Bar, kava is a drink native to the South Pacific Islands. Features calming and anti-anxiety properties that also induce sociability. According to owner Miriam Alicea,
“The term ‘kava bar’ is a play on traditional bars that serve alcohol. Lava Kava is a place to go relax and unwind with friends or total strangers. My goal is to provide a place for the community to enjoy a non-alcoholic drink and at the same time enjoy their time with friends or the kavatender!”
- Ironclad Eats is celebrating 3 years on Saturday, June 8th at Belleflower Brewing Co. Birthday bash celebrations include craft beer and a special new menu.
- Sagamore Hill Lounge celebrated its 6th anniversary at the end of May.
- HiFi Donuts celebrated 7 years on Sunday, June 2nd.

New Additions
- Ocotillo has introduced Industry Brunch. Available every Thursday from 8am – 3pm and includes 10% off the bill for restaurant and bar industry folks. Plus, $5 draft beer and $5 Orange Bike Brewing cans.
- East Ender has updated their Summer Happy Hour and Hideaway Happy Hour offerings.
- Coals is now running Happy Hour every Monday from 4pm – 9pm. $6 well + drinks, house wine and light drafts

- Wilson County Barbecue is hosting their Pig Pickin’ Party on Saturday, June 15th. $30 will get you barbecue, slaw, potato salad, baked beans and corn. No tickets needed.

- Summer Sunsets LIVE at Thompson’s Point returns for another season on Thursday, June 20th. Open to all, Summer Sunsets LIVE brings together the best of Portland’s live music, award winning food trucks, artisan cocktails and finely crafted brews, with spirits provided by local partners.
