We held our rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks at MCD and it was awesome. The food was fantastic, the drinks are great and different than a typical brewery space, and the ambiance was very cool. When it's decorated a little, the private event space in the distillery looks great.

I liked the music, the band, the food, the atmosphere and the service. Our waiter, Ross, was professional, courteous and nice. I already invited two of my friends for the next music gigs there.

This is a great little spot with great cocktails from their distillery. The outside patio area is fun and eclectic. Live music most nights too!

Love this spot. Been here quite a few times now. On NYE I had a fantastic whiskey cider drink, and recently had a couple delicious hot toddies. The food has always been excellent too. My most recent bartender, Ross, was friendly, a great "mixologist," and he was super helpful with providing advice for my friend's Montana trip. I also just love the aesthetics and vibes here.

First time here. The chili was delicious! Lots of fresh veggies, beans & the meat, yummy, very tender, great texture. The hand-held apple pie was spectacular, the apples inside the crescent-shaped dough tender & juicy. The 5-piece band was great, each one a great musician in their own right. Ben who took orders at the door was friendly, funny, personable & just plain nice. Place was near & clean, including the bathroom. Had a great time.

Stopped for a drink on a cold day and had the best time! Cool space, great booze! Whiskey and gin are top notch and staff is amazing, Kevin and Lestat the best! Thank you guys, really hope to come back soon!

What a gem! We went to sample the spirits and got so much more. Sitting at the bar the bartender was able to tell us all about the spirits. Which we greatly enjoyed the large sample. Then the pretzel bits. Holy cow. What a treat. Highly recommend. You won’t be disappointed with the drink, food, nor atmosphere.

My favorite place in Portland. The Fifty Stone Whiskey is the best locally made whiskey in New England. The food is pretty damn good too.
Ricky Blaine
By far, my favorite place in Portland! Jessica the bartender is the best. Staff is so friendly and hospitable. They constantly put on amazing music year-round. This is the place you want to spend all of your money! ???

We had an amazing night full of alcohol, laughs, and good food!We each had a flight of alcohol, then used another to play trivia. The food portions were big and sharable. The staff members were helpful and funny. The live music did not make it in that night, but I heard that is also fun as well! Highly recommend if you’re in town.Blueberry moonshine was to die for.

This place is amazing and a must stop if you like liquor. Cute outdoor seating and friendly staff. Truly some of the best liquors I've had. 3 tasting pours for $5. Don't miss.

Went there in the afternoon on the weekend and really had a wonderful time. Great, fast, thorough service. Drinks were perfect and the outside venue was fun but still offered plenty of shade. Outside is 100% dog friendly, and there is a decent amount of off street parking. Happy hours during the week is a great option if you live in the area, I'll def. be going back.

Met up with a few friends at 6PM on April 29th to check out a band that was new to all of us. Venue is small, staff was attentive rest rooms were clean, drinks were delicious and served quickly.Nacho platter was nontraditional and looked like bottled baby food poured over lightly toasted pieces of flour dough. Tasteless. The burgers and the other food looked good although we didn’t order more food.Band was really good and fun. The crowd was rocking and we had a nice time overall. Looking forward to going back when the outdoor area is open!

The Barrel Room Sessions: Rachel Sumner & Traveling Light at Maine Craft Distilling @ Maine Craft Distilling | Portland | Maine | United States

Fresh off a first place win at the 2023 Thomas Point Beach Bluegrass Festival band competition, Rachel Sumner & Traveling Light have been captivating audiences throughout the northeast. With songs as sweet and biting as the nectar and venom in her voice, Sumner’s lyric-forward writing and penchant for snaking chord progressions demand something far beyond folk conventions, highlighting the acrobatic range of her brilliant bandmates Kat Wallace (fiddle) and Mike Siegel (upright bass).

Sumner is no stranger to the stage. She spent her early career on the bluegrass circuit, singing and writing with the genre-bending roots group Twisted Pine. Since setting out on her own, Sumner’s songs have been critically acclaimed: winning the 2021 John Lennon Award in the folk category for her song “Radium Girls (Curie Eleison);” earning a spot in the Kerrville New Folk Competition; and being chosen four consecutive years as one of the top Massachusetts entries in NPR’s Tiny Desk Competition. Rachel Sumner & Traveling Light released their debut LP in the summer of 2022 to critical acclaim.

The Wonderfool – the recording project of singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Matt Vinson (of Caamp) – is a soundtrack for early mornings and late nights. Dreamt into existence by an Ohio native who’s spent the better part of a decade onstage, on the road, and in the recording studio, it’s indie-folk music to bookend your day.

Boston’s Tall Heights thinks the sound of togetherness is profound right now. Childhood friends Paul Wright and Tim Harrington (cello/guitar harmony duo), once street performed 100 days straight to fund their earliest recordings. In the time since, Tall Heights has released 3 studio albums to critical acclaim and major streaming success (400 million streams to date). They appeared on Conan O’Brien, CBS This Morning, and their songs have been featured on Grey’s Anatomy, American Idol, and many more. Most recently, after opening a tour for Ben Folds, Folds invited Tall Heights to stay on the road with him as his backing band. After a few momentous tours as such, Folds invited them to Nashville in 2022. There they apprenticed under a master, helping Ben Folds write and record his new album, ‘What Matters Most’ (New West, 2023). On the back of such years honing their craft on the road and in the studio, Tall Heights enters 2024 with their 4th studio LP in hand. The album, to be released this fall, debuts an ambitious living snapshot of 1 week in anopen room in western Massachusetts. It is the sound of an old and deep friendship breathing together in a place in time.
